Valentines, His Love for You and Me

Being in the month of February, I was sitting here thinking of the things I love. We so loosely use the term, “I Love You” referring to many people and often many things. “Oh I love that” or “I LOVE THIS!”. LOL And yes, we do mean it the majority of the time. As February is lived, there are several things that come to mind I love:

1) Grandchildren - they melt my heart with the things they do and say. The laughter they bring to me is without comparison!

2) My husband is without words my life and breath as we have shared so much through this life and he’s faithful! He’s there for me!

3) The gift God gave me of children is loved – my 3 children have been a joy down through the years and yes a struggle many times. But, I love them so much!

4) My family in our local church – we have an awesome family of God at 1st Baptist Center Star! I love attending church and seeing “my family”.

5) My family in the church of God no matter where I go. I have “family” worldwide and what a joy to interact with them! Our commonality is JESUS!

6) Well, I could go on and on, (like to include my love for Mexican Food!), but I am sure things are whirling around in your head of all the things you love.

The above list is a “physical” list. In this life, there is a #1 LOVE out of everyone and everything I Love and that is my JESUS!! Why?

1. He gave His life for me! WOW! He shed His blood to cover my sins!

2. He created me and made me just the way He wanted me so I could serve Him! Yes, He wants me to serve Him. I’m HIRED!

3. He is my comforter and protector.

4. He is my SALVATION – my ETERNITY – my LIFE!

5. He is my Alpha and Omega.

6. HE IS THE GREAT I AM and that includes everything I do, say, breath…

OH the list could go on and on with the list for Jesus. I am nothing without Him! Through tough times, He gives me laughter and joy. Through the JOY He gives friends to rejoice with me.

My Friend, we CANNOT live without Jesus! With Him ALL things are possible! He is ALWAYS with us and NOTHING takes Him by surprise. Remember the old Southern Gospel song:

“Without Him I would be nothing, Without Him, I’d surely fail,

Without Him, I would be drifting, like a ship without a sail.

Jesus, Oh Jesus, do you know Him today? Please don’t turn Him away.

Oh, Jesus, My Jesus, without Him how lost I would be.”

John 15:9, “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.”

Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

I John 3:16, “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”

Oh how I love Jesus, because He first loved me! And He LOVES you too!
