Fruit of the Spirit 3 Let Us Sleep!

Love, Love, L O V E, Love, Love Boundless and Free. Jesus left Heaven to die on a tree, this was Love, Love, Love. We were raised singing that chorus with Child Evangelism Fellowship. The first FRUIT of the Spirit.

Then there was JOY! I have the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy down in my heart – WHERE? Down in my Heart – WHERE? Down in my heart. I have the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy, down in my heart. Down in my heart to stay! Again, most of us sang that chorus around a camp fire.

And what is the result of Love and Joy? They equal PEACE! “I have the Peace that passeth understanding down in my heart. WHERE? Down in my heart……to stay!!” You see, if LOVE reigns within your heart because you have the LOVE of Christ in you, you will have JOY. And, just the thought of JOY, pressed down running over, cannot help but produce PEACE! Knowing the Heavenly Father will abide with you, walk with you, talk with you, He is there to stay! That breeds PEACE! Another fruit for our baskets.

Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” PEACE of mind! We all hear the expression, “I’m going out of my mind!” Well, with Christ ruling within you, you can stop worry about your everyday trials and tribulations. You have been given a PEACE that passeth and transcends all excuses we may have for why we do not have PEACE.

PEACE – from knowing God is at the helm of my heart!

PEACE – from knowing death does not conquer me – I have a home in Heaven!

PEACE – because He has already walked each step I take and each day I have lived. He is not surprised at what I will live through, so I can have PEACE!

PEACE – because the JOY deriving from my soul is just as unexplainable as the PEACE stemming from it!

Do you see the fruit builds upon each other? That is why the basket looks so colorful and bright – the FRUIT of the Spirit is indescribable, but when we experience it – it is such a warm sensation of being filled with LOVE, which gives me JOY that turns to PEACE! Whoa! Who would ever want to pass that basket by without partaking of its’ FRUIT??

Sleep PEACEful tonight because God is on the Throne and He has not deserted you in your situation! In fact, the Fruit of the Spirit is intended to aid you in a PEACEful rest – both body and spirit!

No, the basket is not full yet – but we have got a good amount to start chewing on!! Take a bite of each one and see if it leaves a sweet, awesome taste in your mouth! I know it does in mine!
