Sitting here, I was thinking about Daylight Savings Time. First, I was so excited to get another hour of sleep. Then, I was corrected at the dinner table by our 16-year-old granddaughter that I was losing an hour of sleep. I had mixed it up. LOL Out shone by a teenager.
Deciding I should be positive, I thought to myself, “well at least I get more sunshine”. That struck me funny because, no matter what time it is in the day, the sun will shine the same amount of time in the 24 hours. LOL Being I am an early riser, I either get an hour more in the morning, or an hour at the end to get more done outside. To this point, my elevator was not going up to the top and I was feeling like I was short a French fry out of my Happy Meal. LOL
Then, I get into the Word of God and the Sun that Shines through it shines 24 hours a day. Now that is Day Light Savings Time! No matter the Day, the Light of Jesus can shine and change situations in our day. We are Saved from so many things in our lives right on Time! My friend, it does not get any better than that!!
It is our sin that takes away the light from our lives and brings darkness upon our eternity – a life apart from Jesus. One day in the week, Jim and were reading General George S Patton’s last words. His words to his wife were, “It’s too dark, I mean it is too late.” Oh, to live a life without the Light of the Lord! And then to be on your death bed and realize you are in darkness, but think it is too late. My heart ached when I heard that quote.
John 8:12, “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
John 12:46, “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Please know, you never have to worry about being in darkness. No matter the time of day, your day can be filled with Sonlight Time! You are given the privilege of enjoying the Light of the World in your heart and life 24/7, 265 days a year.
Refrain:
“Sunlight, sunlight in my soul today,
Sunlight, sunlight all along the way;
Since the Savior found me, took away my sin,
I have had the sunlight of His love within.”
